haha i knew you were gonna ask this question, since i read your blog and all and i have no idea how to answer it. because i mean i could go into large detail about where i am physically..ya know, sitting in my college dorm room..or it could be more of a..deeper question haha..which route do you want?

haha okay. i acutally think they meet at some point

okay so at this exact moment, i'm sitting in my dorm room working on a craft project waiting to go out haha. i always looove doing all sorts of projects and what not. i just get inspired by the most random things.

I'm in college at ASU..i'm in Barrett the Honors College and I'm loving it so far. The dorms are new and nice and I love it

and I think what got me to this point has to do with what I'm doing at this exact moment- my crafts. I just want to be something more...be creative..be noticed..meet people..become who I want to be
and that's why I'm sitting before you in this dorm room right now haha

Could you elaborate on "be something more" and "be noticed?"

well i think i mean more along the lines of..a lot of people who go to college have this mentality that theyre here to party out of their minds and just have a good time..especially at ASU. But there's so much more to life out there...the things we do, and the people we're with- essentially all the things that make us happy

and while i love hanging out with people and having fun

i just like to sit around and be me. do something random and fun. and everyone seems to notice this about me and comment on it.

I want it be the aura i carry when i walk around campus if that makes sense. So in a sense I'm here to develop myself so that way people can almost tell who I am just by looking at me...though i know thats probably not totally feasible

Okay. I think I understand. Now tell me--you aren't majoring in anything art-related, yet it seems to play an integral part in who you are. Why?

i've always thought about majoring in art, but i've never really seen myself pursuing it...I'm not really sure why to be honest. I think it's mostly that if I were to make art my living it wouldn't be as fun for me anymore and i wouldn't get the same joy out of it

plus ive always had this fascination with people and talking to people in general, so psychology suits me

So would it be accurate to say that what "suits" you takes precedence over what brings "joy" to you? If so, why do you think that is?

well i dont know if i would say that..like i love talking to people and try and figure people out and why they do the things that they do. its definitely something that brings me joy, but not the same as art

i think it's just that i have two very different loves

one that is more of a hobby..and one that has more career potential

Okay. Do you know how you want to practice psychology once you get out of school?

i want to be a clinical psychologist and hopefully have my own practice one day. i thought about going into medical school too but i can't deal with all the science and math classes i have to take which i know is a horrible excuse...haha but it works out either way

So life seems to be going pretty well for you right now, no?

haha yeah i'd say so. i like the college atmosphere a lot

uhhh the only id have to say is that a lot of girls are fake here and a lot of guys are assholes...but I think I've fallen into my niche here and i have a good core group of friends..classes are fairly easy..all in all i'd say its good

i have a good judge of character so i just steer clear of certain people and I'm good to go

Well that's convenient! Haha. Going back to all of the art stuff, what do you think brought you there?

well my mom has always been into art..right now she does a lot of fiber arts like knitting and stuff...but when she was younger she did all kinds of things..she used to make my aunts halloween costumes

one time she made match box costume

i never saw it but she described it to me and it sounded awesome

so i think in a sense she influenced me. she never like had me do crafts with her really ro anything. i kind of found it myself because i like creating things

Ah. I see. You have a brother, right? Is he also creatively minded? Tell me about him.

i have two brothers actually. josh is 24 and is in law school in DC. id say he is the opposite of creative...well i guess in terms of art. i think everyone is creative, but it depends on what you think creativity is. id say he is creatively minded with his ideas on politics and such

and then my little brother lee is autisitc. but he has his creative side too. hesvery smart and loves to create things..like machine wise

so i think thats kind of cool

What was it like growing up with an autistic sibling?

ummm it was sometimes hard on the family..i mean a lot of my parents attention was geared towards him so i think that was hard on me sometimes..but as i grew older i tried to understand more..and became more understanding and patient as a result

i think every family has their problem to deal with

and ours was this

the only thing i wish was that him and i could have been closer

were so close in age we could have had a really good relationship

well i mean its just hard because he likes to keep to himself and would rather keep to himself than be with others

hes just not a very social person, which isnt a problem at all, but it made it difficult for us to become close

my older borther and i have gotten close though lately

yeah we talk a lot. and even when we dont when we're both at home we have a lot of fun

last time he was here, he came and visited me at school and met a bunch of my friends

it was really nice

especially because when we wereyounger we fought all the time
