Hello, readers! My name is Sierra Smith, and I've decided just today to take on an ambitious project I like to call "365 Debuts." Here's the idea: Starting January 14th, 2010, I plan on sitting down with someone different every day for one year. Unless I otherwise specify, these subjects will be complete strangers with one thing in common: their generosity in sharing with me--as well as my readers--their life story. My goal is to get 365 stories out there. It's also my hope that this is a good mixture of people from all walks of life. I want to hear stories from university professors, retail assistants, local government officials, musicians, and the unemployed. I want to interview teenagers, post-grads, parents, and baby boomers. I believe that everyone belongs on the same plane and that no one person's story is less significant than another.
So, with a will of steel but a shaky hand, I sign this introduction with a promise: That starting today and for the next year henceforth, this project will receive the utmost devotion. I hope you'll stick around for the ride.
